Radio Guys Ride Across Texas to Fund Bikes for Kenyan Scholars

NPR’s John Burnett and KUT’s Hawk Mendenhall ride from the Rio Grande to the Red River to fund bikes and books for high schoolers in Kenya. From September 23 to October 3, John and Hawk will be riding their bikes south to north across 720 miles of Texas.

Join the team! Support the ride to fund the Bikes and Books Program at 4 high schools in rural Kenya. Proceeds help improve student scores by providing bicycles as incentives for the top scoring students per grade and for the whole school by relieving critical shortages in textbooks.

From 5¢ to $5 a mile, pledge your support to get Kenyan kids on bikes that will get them to school and beyond.

Click on the “Fund a Bike” button. All Donations Tax-Deductible!
